Jennifer Lujan


Jennifer M. Lujan has dedicated 18 years to The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), serving as Director of the Center for Community Engagement (CCE) for the past two years. She advances UTEP's mission of academic-based community engagement by fostering partnerships among students, faculty, and the wider community, ensuring collaborative initiatives benefit all participants.
With extensive experience managing grant-funded projects, Ms. Lujan develops sustainable partnerships with community organizations and implements high-impact practices that enhance student learning and civic engagement. She also teaches a Political Science course, Leadership and Civic Responsibility, which empowers students to engage with the community and develop leadership skills.
Beyond UTEP, Ms. Lujan has served as president of the Women’s Fund of El Paso and is a board member of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium, supporting collaboration between higher education and communities. A two-time UTEP alumna, holding a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education, she is deeply committed to bridging academia and community to promote service, leadership, and educational equity.
