Dr. Maria Picard-Ami


Dr. Maria L. Picard-Ami is an applied social anthropologist specializing in the intersections of political, economic, and community networks across sectors. Her work focuses on social and environmental justice, community empowerment, and sustainable development, particularly in Latin America and the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands. She has extensive experience in public, private, and nonprofit sectors, applying mixed-methods research and social network analysis. Her teaching follows a social constructivist, project-based approach. She holds degrees in Social Anthropology, Public Administration, and Business Administration, with a Doctorate in Sciences from UNAM in Mexico.
